Professional Development
The goal of this category is to help teachers internalize the strategies used by our nation's most successful teachers. This "Teaching As Leadership" framework incorporates theories of malleable and fixed intelligence, motivational theory, the self-fulfilling prophecy of low expectations, working effectively within a new community, internalizing responsibility for student success, and finding additional time and resources to meet student goals. Resources provided within this framework include rubrics for self-evaluation, co-investigation resources, and guidance for department chairpersons and other science leadership positions.
